One Way to Wear a Suit with a T-Shirt

With summer waiting in the wings, now is the time to start thinking how you'll negotiate the need to wear a suit with a rising mercury level. Joshua Jackson has one quick fix:

The actor stepped out last night in New York (where Accuweather reported the temperature at 82 degrees) for a screening of his Showtime show The Affair wearing a royal blue two-piece with just a white t-shirt. It's the ultimate summertime suiting hack and hardly the first time Jackson—who dates fashion plate Diane Kruger and has won over Karl Lagerfeld—has made this formal/casual combo work for him.

If we had to grade it, we'd give this an A-, which is a damn solid grade, no doubt. The reason for points off the top? Well, the contrast of the tucked shirt mixed with the brown belt breaks up the look, and while it's not enough to create that short/fat look that everyone should avoid, it could be improved upon. How? Well, Jackson nailed it before, here to be exact, when he wore a suit of a similar hue, but paired it with a black tucked in tee and no belt, which didn't break the outfit up and kept the look feeling more pulled-together.

Karl Lagerfeld approves of this man—perhaps you should take note too.
