We love summer as much as the next guy, but spring has its own kind of magic. Sometimes that feeling makes you act out. You wear a tropical print shirt three months too early, or accidentally allow happy hour to turn into karaoke night. Sometimes, like Channing Tatum did this week, you get a drastic new haircut: in his case, a bleached buzz.
Tatum was the first to admit his bleach-blonde buzz-cut was a bad idea. The poll he posted to his Instagram story revealed that the majority of his followers did too. Did that stop him? No, it did not. Watch the new trailer for Stranger Things, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, then listen to these 4.5 songs and then tell us you don’t feel the inclination to shave your head and dye it blonde too.
The rest of the Internet would have you believe the color is the real shocking part of Tatum’s haircut and yes, it’s definitely a vibe, but remember that this color will grow out in a week or two. It’s not really a big deal. Shaving off all of your head remains the dare here, a rebel act that will turn you into a badass and then, unfortunately, a human tennis ball, but first a badass. Which perfectly captures everything that’s great about this time of year: it’s about living in the present. Overthink a winter beard but not a summer buzz-cut, and especially not a dyed one. The whole thing will be over before you know it.
