Mark McNairy made a name for himself by turning up the volume (and sometimes adding some pretty colorful language) to the staples that guys love: oxford shirts with permanent lipstick kisses on the collars, boldly striped shorts, and camouflage everything. But his latest collection, New Republic by Mark McNairy, distills the kinds of shoes you'd wear from 9 to 5 down to their purest and most attractive forms.

The new line, which McNairy is making in partnership with Five Four (an affordable subscription service that sends you a box of new clothes every month), will be available starting Tuesday, July 12. While the shoes for his designer line, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, can command prices of $500 or more, the New Republic shoes will retail for between $58 to $98. And Five Four subscribers will be able to purchase them for 25 percent off. The lineup includes everything from longwing brogues, loafers, laceups, and bucks to the all-important driving moc.

"I looked at this project as if it was a collaboration with Target or H&M," said McNairy, who's collaborated with Five Four before, in an interview with WWD. "I agreed to do the collaboration because it's going to put my name into the heads of 50,000 guys when they get my monthly package. The stuff never goes into a store. It goes straight to the consumer. So it's not competing with my regular collection."

But at prices like these, it'll definitely give other affordable footwear operations an almost literal run for their money.
