SNL Gave Melania Trump Her Own Version of Lemonade and It Was Brilliant

This election needed more Beyoncé.

This entire election has been a shit show. This can't be overstated. From the very beginning Donald Trump's campaign was marked by racism and xenophobia and islamophobia and sexism and general "piece of shit"-ism too. But in the last two weeks the news cycle has taken a turn for the more disgusting. With each passing day it feels like more women are coming forward to accuse Trump of sexual assault, and in turn it feels like each day is making the Trump campaign more and more unhinged and dangerous. Disregarding his intelligence briefings that say Russia is behind the hacks of the DNC, trying to delegitimize the election before it happens with claims of "rigged." It's gotten to the point that watching the news can feel decidedly bad for your health. So, never has an episode of SNL felt more important to my sanity. And thankfully they delivered in a big way. Especially with the Beyoncé-Melania Trump crossover: "Melanianade."

Cecily Strong's Melania has been great for a while, and throwing together Kate McKinnon's perfect Kellyanne Conway, Sasheer Zamata's Omarosa, Emily Blunt's Ivanka and a fantastic Tiffany Trump from Vanessa Bayer is a recipe for magic. It turns out it helps to laugh at the maniac holding the news cycle hostage. Who knew? Oh and what did Trump think of the episode, which also featured another Alec Baldwin/Kate McKinnon showdown?
