Donald Trump Uninvited Steph Curry to the White House After Steph Curry Said He Wasn't Going

An invitation to the White House is an honor usually reserved for people like Ted Nugent and...well we don't really know who else. The Trump White House keeps its visitor logs secret. But during the Golden State Warriors media day on Friday, Stephen Curry said he'll be voting against the team's trip to the White House to celebrate their title win.

Just to be clear, Curry didn't say he was vetoing the team's visit. He just said he would vote against it. As he put it to one reporter, "It's not just about me going to the White House, if it was this would be a pretty short conversation." But since he has to consider his teammates and the gravity of making a political decision, there would still be a conversation.

But Donald Trump doesn't like talking things out, or principled beliefs, or people not kowtowing to him. (Especially when those people aren't white.) So, to Twitter.

Trump is the kind of boss who tries to fire someone after they've quit. Or the person who gets dumped and then says, "I'm too hot for you anyway." It's honestly hard to come up with examples that involve adults. This is grade school petty. On a completely unrelated topic, the former White House photographer just happened to post this photo after the president's tweet.

The early morning un-invitation comes just hours after an Alabama rally where Trump said NFL coaches should fire any player like Colin Kaepernick who doesn't stand for the national anthem, and that all the concern about serious head injury was ruining football. Which really undercuts the argument that athletes should stay out of politics.

Maybe the president could lead by example and stick to what he knows, like bankrupting casinos.
