DeVonta Smith Wins!

After an intense, ultra-competitive week, our Most Stylish NFL Player tournament has come to a close, and we've got a winner: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver defeated Buffalo Bills wideout to take the crown. And while Diggs might be the NFL's leading fashion obsessive, you'd have been wrong to count out Smith: in his second year in the league, the wiry wideout has turned himself into both an unmissable contributor on the field and a seriously heavy-duty dresser off of it. Seriously—there might not be a player in the league more committed to tailoring, nor a player with a frame (skinny but strong!) better suited for it. In other words: DeVonta Smith cares about getting dressed, and he seems to be getting better at it with each year.

Of course, he's got bigger birds to fry: next Sunday, his Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. (If you're going to be in Arizona, make sure to grab your ticket for our GQ Sports Style Hall of Fame event, featuring conversations with Deion Sanders, Allen Iverson, and Derek Jeter.) And you know what Deion Sanders always said: if you look good, you play good. So keep an eye out for the Most Stylish NFL Player of the Year, as voted by you, on the field in Arizona next weekend.

The Finals

We've made it! The finals are here—and it's an absolutely stacked matchup. In the semis, Stefon Diggs ran a go route past Patrick Surtain II, while Devonta Smith edged out his Super Bowl opponent Travis Kelce. (Kelce, of course, will have a chance to avenge himself next Sunday.)

It'll be a heck of a matchup. Diggs might be the most fashion-conscious player in the NFL—how many other superstars do you know who are famous for not using a stylist? Smith, on the other hand, makes a virtue of his small-for-football frame with heavy tailoring. But only one of them can win—and you'll decide who it will be. Check back here tomorrow for the winner.

The Semifinals

We're onto the semifinals! Perennial heavy hitter Stefon Diggs ran a go route past Isaiah Simmons, while Patrick Surtain II shut down CeeDee Lamb; they'll face off in the semis. In the other bracket, Travis Kelce topped Saquon Barkley, and Devonta Smith knocked out Tyrod Taylor. And so, a week before the big game, the Chiefs tight end and Eagles wideout will stage a tunnel fit-heavy preview of their Super Bowl matchup.

It's an absolutely stacked semifinal round, with a killer final set to follow. Voting opens at noon on GQ Sports' Instagram—go cast your vote and check back to see who wins.

The Quarterfinals

And just like that, the first round is in the books. Not unlike the playoffs themselves, the favorites proved tough to beat. Stefon Diggs, Travis Kelce, Saquon Barkley, and Devonta Smith all finds themselves in the quarterfinals, along with young talents like CeeDee Lamb, Isaiah Simmons, and Patrick Surtain II. (Keep your eyes on veteran QB Tyrod Taylor, who's been getting huge fits off for years now.)

All of which sets us up for a wild quarterfinal round. There are no easy matchups left on the board. Early highlights include a matchup between Barkley and Super Bowl tight end Travis Kelce, plus a classic wide receiver-cornerback duel in Lamb vs. Surtain. Voting opens at noon on GQ Sports' Instagram—go cast your vote and check back to see who wins.

Round 1

After a run of Super Bowls dominated by old-man QBs, the NFL’s new guard has officially arrived. Super Bowl LVII, in Arizona in two weeks’ time, will see Jalen Hurts and the Eagles face off against Pat Mahomes's Chiefs. (And Joe Burrow and Brocky Purdy put up plenty valiant efforts of their own in the conference championship games, too.) All of which is to say: there is plenty of new, young, exciting energy in the National Football League these days—and that extends to the personal style of its players.

The NBA may still be the sports league that sets the tunnel fit agenda, but the so-called No Fun League is gaining ground (and having a lot of fun). And so, as we head into Super Bowl season—catch us at the GQ Sports Style Hall of Fame in Arizona, on February 11th!—we’d like your help giving a different sort of award. Welcome to GQ's first-ever Most Stylish NFL Player tournament.

The 16-player bracket is stacked, and with a refreshing slate of names. We’ve got certified All-Pros like Bills wideout Stefon Diggs, Saquon Barkley, and Travis Kelce; we’ve also got up-and-comers and veterans eager to establish themselves as heavy-hitting dressers.

The league’s 16 strongest fit connoisseurs face off, starting now, in a five-day, five-round competition to determine the league’s best-dressed player. Each round lasts for 24 hours. And it’ll all take place on GQ Sports' Instagram. Cast your vote every day, check back here for updates, and stick around to see who hoists the GQ Most Stylish NFL Player trophy at the final whistle.
