In the age of Big Collaboration, it's become harder and harder for brands to surprise fashion fans. Supreme and Louis Vuitton did the trick a few years back. So did the newly announced Adidas and Prada partnership. However, in an era when every single brand is like, "Let's build fam," it's hard to keep getting excited over a hoodie with two logos on it instead of one. For those suffering from collab fatigue, one of New York's most exciting menswear brands is here with a genuinely big-deal collaboration: Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche.

To start, Aimé Leon Dore customized an actual damn Porsche—a 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 911, to be exact. Taking its cues from the brand's latest collection, the interior has been completely reupholstered with Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth. (If you're in New York, you can see it in person at the Jeffrey Deitch gallery all throughout Fashion Week.) The clothes are just as cool, and there are plenty to choose from: coach jackets, T-shirts, beanies, caps, tote bags, and more. (There are even driving gloves!) The wares are graphic-driven and simple, but feel smart and genuinely covetable—perfect mementos of the one-of-a-kind collaboration.

We're only two months into the new year, but it seems that designers are already thinking outside the box and finding new ways to really present their brand. Relying on the traditional menswear presentation format to generate buzz sounds like a thing of the past. (Hell, Justin O'Shea and SSS World Corp staged a fashion show on a remote strip of desert highway and only invited two people.) Aimé Leon Dore's founder, Teddy Santis, is a longtime Porsche fan, and to see such a project like this come to life is undoubtedly as exciting for him as it is for fans of his brand. While the Aimé Leon Dore 964 Porsche may be the ultimate grail, picking up a beautiful-looking T-shirt or tote bag will have to do—for now.
