Josh and Benny Safdie are brothers, and together, the directors of films like Good Time, Heaven Knows What, and the forthcoming, Adam Sandler-starring Uncut Gems. Doing anything with a collaborator is difficult, and creating cohesive works of cinema with another person seems well-nigh impossible, unless you have something approaching a shared brain.
We do not know if the Safdies share a brain, but it does not seem crazy, to us, that two brothers who share such a striking taste for sensible outerwear, good sweaters, and a rustic fall palette would also manage to work harmoniously together to make the cinematic equivalent of a half-dozen speedballs (out Christmas via A24!). Good job, boys.
